JIMMY DALLAS COMES TO CALIFORNIA,
January 23, 2006
I can't remember the last time I saw Jimmy Dallas. I found some photographs from August 1980 of us
together. Can it really be 25 and a half years ago? We kept in touch and every year with a Christmas card I get a letter
from his wife Donna updating their life with their daughters in Virginia Beach. I wrote back this year and told Jimmy about
the web site and asked him to send me his e-mail address. He wrote to me and said that he had to fly to San Jose for business on January 23.
So from my home here, east of San Francisco, I drove down to San Jose to meet Jimmy.

We drove to Big Basin State Redwood Park in Santa Cruz.

This tree was hollow on the bottom and Jimmy was able to stand inside it.
We drove to the Santa Cruz boardwalk for the sunset.
I didn't see anyone on the street I trusted enough to take a photo of Jimmy
and me with my camera - so I held my hand out, and did this self-portrait of us.
